Capturing Your Newborn in Madrid: Memories of Those First Days
When Those First Days Fly By
The first days with your baby can all blur together. The sleep, the emotions, the hours when you’re not quite sure what time of day it is. Meanwhile, your baby is changing almost before you notice—the way they curl up when they sleep, their tiny little hands, that calmness when they rest on you… it all passes so quickly.
Many families feel the need to capture this moment, but they also have doubts: is it too soon? Will the baby be okay? Is it really worth having a session now? The truth is, there’s no perfect moment… but there is a stage that never comes back.

Why It’s Best to Book Your Newborn Session While Pregnant
To avoid disappointment and make sure you get a spot during the ideal window (the first days of life), I recommend booking your session during the second trimester of pregnancy.
Planning in advance allows us to:
Booking early also gives you a chance to capture your pregnancy if you haven’t already. You can see more about that in my latest post on maternity photography and my maternity galleries page.
What to Expect from a Newborn Session
A newborn session isn’t just about having pretty photos. It’s about pausing for a moment. Watching. Keeping real memories of those first days as they are, without rush, naturally and gently.
In my studio, sessions are designed so everything flows calmly, respecting the baby’s pace and creating simple, timeless images that will mean just as much years from now.

A Natural and Unforced Approach
I don’t work with artificial poses or scenes that don’t make sense for such a tiny baby. My approach focuses on:
The goal isn’t to create something “spectacular”, but something authentic. Photos that will still feel meaningful in ten or twenty years.

Safety and Comfort for Your Baby
Every baby sets the pace. We take breaks whenever needed—for feeding, resting, or calming down. The studio is prepared so your baby is comfortable, warm, and safe at all times.
A calm environment like this also helps parents feel relaxed, without pressure or stress, letting us capture real, emotional moments.
Studio or At-Home Sessions
Most sessions take place in my home studio in Moralzarzal (Madrid), where everything is ready for a smooth, calm experience. If you prefer a session at home, that’s also an option.
At-home sessions are intimate and personal, capturing your everyday surroundings and the way you live these first days. Either way, the focus is the same: natural, simple, and respectful of your baby.

When to Book and Why Not to Wait
If you wait until the baby is born to get in touch, spots may already be full. That’s why booking during pregnancy is the safest way to secure your session during the ideal window.
Planning ahead means the experience can be calm and stress-free, and, as mentioned, gives you the chance to capture your pregnancy as well.
Memories That Last a Lifetime
Right now, you’re caught up in the day-to-day. But in a few years, these images will be much more than photos. They’ll take you back to the very beginning, helping you remember how it all started.
A newborn photography session in Madrid is a gift for today… and for the future.
